I don't have many of them but I have some.
Display casebacks on affordable watches is a relatively recent thing. Many of them are made in China.
Personally, I like display casebacks. It is good to be able to have a look at the movement, especially if it is a chrono.
Here is my 2004 Vostok Troyka watch.
Usually, display casebacks are screw-on case backs
Not so is this 2012 Slava 2428 which has a snap-on display caseback.
The display caseback on my Strela 3133 Poljot Chrono is "sapphire glass".
And this Molnija pocket watch is all see-through... but it is plastic crystals.
